OREANDA-NEWS. The 9th International Science-into-Practice Conference on Eurasian Economic Integration organised by Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) opened today at the President Hotel in Moscow.

The main objective of the conference is to search for the ways to deepen Eurasian integration in the context of the Agreement Establishing the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), which will begin to function on 1 January 2015. The participants in the forum will discuss a wide range of issues relating to Eurasian integration, including the main areas for cooperation in the key economic sectors, the deepening of industrial cooperation, the movement of capital, and the establishment of uniform technical regulations and an interlinked labour market in the EEU.

The panel discussion will be about the possible areas for cooperation and interaction between the EEU and the European Union.

"Each year the Bank conferences bring together leading experts from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and other countries, representatives of the EDB member states, international organisations, and integration associations," comments Vladimir Yasinsky, Member of the Management Board and Managing Director for Research at EDB. "These forums have become an effective tool of discussion and information exchange for financial institutions, governmental authorities, and businesses from the Bank's member states. We managed to create an optimal floor for a broad and objective discussion of Eurasian integration. Specialists from various CIS countries, who have different experiences and views, express their position here openly and discuss the ways for Eurasian integration. In this way they help to search for effective solutions to pressing issues."
