OREANDA-NEWS. The ministry of oil signed a consultation contract with the Egyptian ministry of oil (represented by "the Skills Oil and Gas" company), to develop the environmental safety conditions in the oil sector.

Mr. Sadik Hussain Al-Yaseri, the director general of studies, planning and follow-up directorate ensured that the ministry is working on to develop the systems of safety and environmental health (H.S.E) in the oil industry through the contracting with the experienced companies in this field.

He ensured on the necessity of this contract for the oil industry especially in the oil fields that cares about the environmental and health safety standards. He said also that the contract will ensure the training opportunities for the workers in the oil industry according to the international systems.

Mr. Saad Noori, the director general of the midland refineries company whom signed the contract as a representative for the Iraqi party said that the contract will be applied within 18 month with a cost of 2.5 million dollars. He said also that the system will combine the three systems of health, safety and environment in one system according to the international system.

Mr. Ahmed Saeed Al-Ashmawi the head of the Egyptian company ensured that his company will devote all their technical, technological and administrative capabilities to succeed this contract and apply it according to the international standards. He said also that the contract provides the building of the security & safety system to maintain the workflow in the oil sector, in addition to maintaining the oil facilities which is known as (H.S.E).

Mr. Assim Jihad, the spokesman of the ministry said that the ministry is keen to keep up with the modern technology of the oil industry and develop the infrastructure of the oil sector through signing contracts with the specialized international companies for the benefit of the oil industry and guarantee a safe environment in Iraq. He said also that Iraq is keen to enforce the relationships with the Egyptian brothers in all the fields such as the cooperation in the oil & gas sector. Mr. Jihad said also that the signature of a contract with an Egyptian company related to the Egyptian ministry of oil will bring a benefit for the both parties and enable the concerned people with the training programs to gain more scientific experience.
