OREANDA-NEWS. On October 13, 2014 the head office of the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange played host to a meeting of BUCE top management with a delegation of the Bulgarian and Turkish business community led by Yanko Topalov, Chairman of the Organization of Eurasian Cooperation (Bulgaria). During the talks, the sides discussed several promising areas of mutually beneficial cooperation, including accreditation of new Bulgarian and Turkish companies at BUCE, shipments of Belarusian chipboards to Turkey as well as metal and agricultural products to the Balkan region.

In addition, one of the foreign guests - Milen Manowski, CEO of Maxicom Group - put forward a proposal to ship agricultural products using BUCE's electronic trading platform. According to Mr. Manowski, exchange trade system developed by BUCE allows cutting transaction costs and facilitates access to other markets.

Apart from that, the participants of the meeting outlined further steps aimed at intensification of collaboration within the frames of OEC in a bid to promote the advantages of exchange trade among the companies operating in the Balkan region. In particular, the Bulgarian side offered BUCE to participate in the creation of a Belarusian-Balkan trading house that would serve as a bridge between the companies from Belarus, Bulgaria, Greece, Serbia, Turkey and other countries of the Balkan Peninsula. It is expected that the exchange trade mechanism will lie at the core of this new structure being among the most efficient forms of trade relations between companies involved in the project.
