OREANDA-NEWS. October 17, 2014. The purchasing price decreased USD 4.36 (1.1%) as compared with the same period of the past year, but increased USD 7.65 (2%) quarter-on-quarter, Moldovagaz informs.

As it was said, in Q2 2014, the contract price of Russian gas for Moldova was USD 371.48 per 1,000 cu m. up 1.4% quarter-on-quarter and down 1.5% against Q2 2013. The contract price for Russian gas for Moldova was USD 376.98 per 1,000 cu m in Q2 2013 and USD 366.35 per 1,000 in Q1 2014. In Q1 2014 Moldova purchased Russian gas at a price of \\$374.24 per 1,000 cu m, Moldovagaz says.

According to the company’s findings, in 2013 the purchasing price Moldova paid for gas averaged USD 379.58 per 1,000 cu m, down USD 14.4 or 3.7% year-on-year. With an allowance for actual heating value, the gas price was USD 384.92 in Q1 2013 (against USD 388.31 in Q1 2012); USD 386.25 in Q2 2013 (USD 398.01 in Q2 2012); USD 374.64 in Q3 2013 (USD 398.15 in Q3 2012) and USD 371.39 in Q4 2013 (USD 399.58 in Q4 2012).

The price for gas for Moldova is calculated on a formula including such variables as a price Gazprom has sold gas to non-CIS states for the last 9 months of the year preceding a year of the supply. It is established every quarter depending on prices for gas oil and mazut reported for 9 months preceding a quarter of the supply. Till 2011, the formula included a decreasing coefficient for Moldova to switch over to European prices gradually. Since 2011, Moldova has bought Russian gas at European prices.
