OREANDA-NEWS. Moscow Domodedovo Airport took part in the 27th International Exhibition and Forum in the field of air cargo Air Cargo Forum and Exposition 2014 (ACF) which was held in Seoul (Korea) this year.

ACF is a leading event in the cargo industry, which is held once every two years by a non-profit organization TIACA, representing all major segments of the market of international traffic and freight logistics.

Moscow Domodedovo Airport has been a member of the TIACA since 2004 and is actively involved in the ACF in order to promote cooperation with its partners in the field of air cargo, as well as practical application of the peer experience. At the exposition-forum, the airport presented its own booth where everyone could see the cargo traffic development trends at Moscow Domodedovo Airport. During the event, the airport experts held talks with potential partners of Moscow Domodedovo Airport - handling companies involved in maintenance of aircraft and cargo at airports; airlines cargo-agents flying to and from Russia's largest air hub; largest cargo carriers (AirBridgeCargo, Volga-Dnepr Airlines, Asiana Airlines).

Following the first seven months of 2014, the share of cargo traffic of Moscow Domodedovo Airport within the Moscow aviation hub amounted to 41.7%. The full-fledged route network of the air hub offers its clients a wide range of optimal connection areas for cargo transportation.

The cargo terminal of Moscow Domodedovo Airport is one of Russia's largest international air cargo complexes providing a full range of services in handling all types of cargo including hazardous ones. Warehouses of Moscow Domodedovo Airport can process more than 200 thousand tons of cargo per year. To receive jumbo-sized cargo jets, the airport has 18 parking spaces, 6 of which are designed for the newest type of cargo liner Boeing 747-8 Freighter. Developing the infrastructure for cargo reception and handling, Moscow Domodedovo Airport is working on a fourth line of the cargo terminal that is planned to be commissioned in 2015.
