OREANDA-NEWS. October 22, 2014. PT Pertamina (Persero) had officially been accepted as an associate member of the International Gas Union (IGU) as part of the company’s effort to expand its network among global gas players.
 
Pertamina’s acceptance as an associate member together with the Indonesian Gas Society was inaugurated in the IGU council meeting in Berlin, Germany, on Thursday (16/10). Pertamina Gas Director Hari Karyuliarto attended the inauguration representing Pertamina as well as chairman of the Indonesian Gas Society.
 
“This is a good momentum for Pertamina and Indonesian Gas Society to develop networking among global gas players. The acceptance of Pertamina as an associate member of IGU grows our company’s strong commitment to play important role and contribute in the development of gas infrastructure and industry in Indonesia,” Hari said.
 
The IGU is a non-profit organization established in 1931 and has 142 members, associations and companies operating in gas industry, and dominates 95% of the global market share. The IGU pushes for international gas trading that upholds non-discriminatory contract policies and principles, development of safe and environmentally-friendly gas technology in the production, transmission, distribution and utilization processes.
