The Romanian Minister had congratulated his counterpart on the appearance of the first batch of Moldovan apples on shelves of Carrefour. In a twist to an old proverb, the Agriculture Minister of Moldova, in his turn, had said “a friend in embargo is a friend indeed!'.

Earlier, the signing of the direct contracts on Moldovan fruit deliveries to Carrefour and Metro (Romania) was reported. The Agriculture Ministry of Moldova said over 730 tonnes of apples, 190 tonnes of plums and 987 tonnes of grapes had been supplied to Romania.
