OREANDA-NEWS. October 23, 2014. AREVA has signed a contract with Brazilian utility BOLT Energias for the construction of the Campo Grande biomass power plant in the state of Bahia. Once completed, this 150 MW plant will be the largest biomass facility in the country.

Under the scope of the contract, AREVA will provide engineering, procurement and construction services for Campo Grande, a plant composed of three 50 MW modules and fuelled with woody biomass.

The plant’s connection to the national electric grid is scheduled for mid 2017.
