OREANDA-NEWS. For the fifth year in a row, PotashCorp has donated USD 150,000 to the University of Saskatchewan's Huskie Athletics. The funds will be used to supplement team budgets for each of the 15 Huskie Athletics teams, as well supporting student-athletes at the Huskie Sport Health Centre.

This Saturday, PotashCorp will present the cheque to Athletic Director Basil Hughton and members of the football team between the first and second quarters of their game.

"Huskie Athletics is very grateful once again for this fantastic contribution to our program," said Hughton. "PotashCorp continues to be a great corporate partner to Huskie Athletics. Gifts like this help our programs recruit and retain the best and brightest student-athletes, as well as enhance the student-athlete experience for all 15 varsity teams and in the Sport Health Centre. We are exceedingly appreciative of the generosity afforded us by this great corporate citizen, PotashCorp."

"We are proud to continue our support of our hometown Huskies and athletic programming at the U of S," said Denita Stann, Vice President, Investor and Public Relations at PotashCorp. "These programs teach important life lessons about leadership, commitment, teamwork and community involvement."

PotashCorp is a major contributor to the University of Saskatchewan - a testament to the company's commitment to both education and community building. Since 1995 PotashCorp has contributed more than USD 11.5 million to the University of Saskatchewan, including its support of Huskie Athletics.

In 2005, PotashCorp supported University athletics with a USD 5 million contribution to upgrade Griffiths Stadium in PotashCorp Park. The company also sponsored the 2006 Vanier Cup, helping Huskie Athletics to host that event and was the 2013 and 2014 title sponsor of the PotashCorp University Cup in hockey.
