OREANDA-NEWS. October 30, 2014. Performance of the President's instructions regarding improvement of immigration laws, and industrial cooperation within the EEU were reviewed.

Speaking on the topic of industrial cooperation, the Minister of Investment and Development A.Issekeshev said that "the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and the countries of the Customs Union amounted to USD 24.6 billion by the end of 2013, and the total volume of exports was about USD 6 billion."

The Minister said that factor of change in export structure is positive. "If input goods dominated earlier, we have seen change in the structure of exports over the past years. Processed goods exceeded input goods by volume. The total amount of supplied finished products amounted to more than a billion US dollars," A.Issekeshev stressed.

Along with this, the head of the Investment and Development Ministry noted "work on participation of Kazakh enterprises in import substitution program of the Russian Federation has been undertaken."

"We conducted an analysis and found that Kazakhstan producers have the ability to supply quality products to the Russian Federation on 30 commodity items. We have selected about 60 Kazakh companies in the first stage. The total cost of potential exports totaled US\\$ 6.7 billion," A.Issekeshev said.

There were issues of creation and functioning of industrial zones, export financing support mechanisms, opening Kazakh trade delegates abroad. Cabinet members also discussed measures to support the automotive industry.

Following the meeting, the Prime Minister gave instructions to the relevant state agencies.
