OREANDA-NEWS. October 31, 2014. An international inter-sector forum, Central Asian Industrial Week, has kicked off at the Uzexpocenter.

The event includes international exhibitions like the Road Construction and Municipal Engineering Machinery – UzComak 2014, the Mining World Uzbekistan 2014, the Metalworking and Mechanical Engineering – Machinery Central Asia 2014, the Chemical Industry – Chemie Uzbekistan 2014, the Plastic Industry – Plastex Uzbekistan 2014, and the Printing and Packaging – O’zbekinрrint-O’zupack.

The industrial week is organized by the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade, the State Committee for Geology and Mineral Resources, the state joint-stock companies Uzavtoyul and Uzkimyosanoat, the Trade and Industry Chamber in cooperation with the international exposition company ITE Uzbekistan and the ITE Group.

It was noted at the opening ceremony of the occasion that the modernization, technical and technological re-equipment of industrial enterprises underway in Uzbekistan has been bearing its remarkable fruits. The creation of a favorable investment climate under the leadership of President Islam Karimov serves as an important factor in the consolidation of interaction with foreign partners on this front.

158 promising investment projects dedicated to the introduction of new technologies and equipment are being implemented as part of the execution of the 15 December 2010 resolution of the head of our state on the priority development aspects of Uzbekistan’s industry in 2011-2015. In this context, the Central Asian Industrial Week is especially topical because it serves as a stage for the demonstration and promotion of cutting-edge industrial equipment, technologies, technological novelties, along with exchange of expertise and establishment of business contacts between domestic and foreign manufacturers.

In terms of thematic orientation, the exposition is divided into two major sectors. The first of them deals with mining, metalworking, machine building, industrial construction and specialized machinery. As part of this sector, the open showrooms of the Uzxpocenter present large-dimension construction machinery and equipment for mining works. The exhibition of the second sector displays achievements in chemical and plastics industries, polymers, packaging and printing industry.

This year, the united exposition exhibits products from more than a hundred companies of Uzbekistan and 17 countries, including China, South Korea, Germany, the United Kingdom, Austria, Italy, France, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Belarus, Finland, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Sweden, Kazakhstan, among others.

Visitors are presented a wide range of latest innovations and state-of-the-art equipment for a great diversity of industries.

Mining industry is one of the critical sectors of our country’s economy. The investments being drawn and the newest technologies being introduced into Uzbekistan’s mining industry serve as important factors in its steadfast advancement. The mounting interest of participants from abroad in the international exhibition MiningWorld Uzbekistan held in this country for the ninth time speaks of the importance and the promising nature of the international cooperation in this sphere. Its exponents include largest manufacturers and suppliers of mining and barn machinery, of crushing and screening hardware, drilling equipment, as well as developers of solutions for geological prospecting and the mining industry. The attention of participants and visitors – professionals of the industry – has been caught particularly by the companies Micromine (Australia), Bauer, Hausherr (both from Germany), Henan Liming Heavy Industry Science & Technology Co. Ltd, Zhengzhou Vipeak Heavy Industry Machinery Co. Ltd, Shanghai Jianye Heavy Industry Co. Ltd (all from China).

“Our company supplies safety technologies and means of individual protection for the mining industry,” says Frank Schubert, technical manager of Germany-based Drager Safety AG & Co. KGaA. “It is not the first year that we cooperate closely with major Uzbek companies. I should stress that your country pays attention to not only the development of mining business, but also to compliance with contemporary safety norms. It is a rather important factor in the progress of the industry.”

Uzbekistan is represented by a number of companies, standing out from among them being the stand of the Toshelektroapparat. It presents modern local samples of equipment of mine designation. Innovations by Toshelektroapparat enjoy success both in Uzbekistan and in a range of foreign countries, which motivates for further expansion of the range of manufactured equipment.

The exposition of mining machinery and accessories is complemented by stands of the 7th international exhibition Machinery Central Asia 2014. It brightly demonstrates the development trends of the industry as well as the interest of the world community of manufacturers in cooperation with Uzbekistan.

Attention of participants and visitors was drawn particularly to the display of the unique turning lathe HT 250 MP from the production association “Navoi Machine Building Plant” under the Navoi Mining and Metalworking Complex. The plant exports more than ten types of lathes to CIS countries and offers services for their repairs and supplies of spare parts.

Special significance is attached in our country to road construction. Wide-ranging works are in progress to build highways, further enhance transportation ties with other nations, introduce latest machinery and technologies into the sphere, and train and raise the proficiency of specialists in accordance with contemporary requirements. The 6th international exhibition UzComak 2014 covers all modern aspects of road construction and municipal economy by uniting the interests of supplies and manufacturers of respective machinery and equipment.

Participants of the exposition are world-renowned machine building companies, including JCB (Great Britain), Bomag (Germany), Controls s.a.r.l. (Italy), Xuanhua Construction Machinery Co. Ltd (China), Marini (Turkey). The Uzbek manufacturer, JV MAN Auto Uzbekistan, extensively displays road construction machinery, asphaltic concrete devices, bulldozers, mobile asphalt plants and modern geo-materials.

“The growth in the scales and scopes of works in construction and repair of motor roads in Uzbekistan facilitates the increase in the demand for corresponding construction materials and newest technologies,” said Jamshid Shakirov, head of the representative office of the Swiss company Metso Minerals AB in Uzbekistan. “Domestic companies make use of the state-of-the-art and produce high quality goods. As a result, the competition in the construction materials market of Uzbekistan has grown within the last years.”

Uzbekistan’s chemical industry has been advancing steadily, as well. To date, the Uzkimyosanoat state joint stock company is to launch 14 projects to produce new goods with higher added value and modernize the existing capacities. Trends in the evolution of chemical industry and the production of plastic materials are reflected in the expositions of Chemie Uzbekistan 2014 and Plastex Uzbekistan 2014. They present major representatives of the chemical sector and leaders of the industry of plastics and polymers as well as manufacturers of specialized equipment.

As part of the Central Asian Industrial Week, the 16th international exhibition, Printing and Packaging – O’zbekinрrint-O’zupack, is underway. Its exposition is interesting for professionals, manufacturers and producers of practically all the sectors of economy, because printing and packaging services are important for the presentation and sales of any product. The participants of the exhibition include key Uzbek and foreign brands such as Credo Рrint Group, Premium Flex, Poligraf Classic, Sharq Publishing and Printing Stock Company (all from Uzbekistan), Selvex, Aucouturier (both from France), Guangzhou OK Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ningbo Xiongxin Plastic Machinery Co. (both from China).

Participants of international expositions have pointed out that holding of the Central Asian Industrial Week has facilitated exchange of expertise, expansion of horizons of cooperation, and conclusion of agreements for longer-term prospects among representatives of related sectors of the manufacturing industry.

Presentations, panel discussions and negotiations among exponents and specialists-visitors are envisaged within the frameworks of the Central Asian Industrial Week.
