OREANDA-NEWS. October 31, 2014. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) found that Usolie Municipal District Authority, the Perm region violated the Law “On Protection of Competition” by exercising actions that could restrict competition on the Russian market of soda ash (Part 1 Article 15 of No. 135-FZ).

FASA established that Usolie Municipal District Authority unreasonably prevented operations of “Bereznikovsky Soda Works” OJSC, refusing to agree upon the acts of selecting land plots for building a brine extraction facility and infrastructure facilities (pipeline systems), which is the only method of supplying raw materials for the production purposes.

According to the Head of FAS Department for Control over Chemical Industry and Agro-Industrial Complex, Anna Mirochinenko, although the violation was eliminated to execute the Court judgment, in the near future FAS shall initiate administrative cases against officials of Usolie Authority under Part 1 Article 14.9 of the Code on Administrative Violations – “On Restricting Competition by the Authorities and Local Self-Government Bodies”.
