OREANDA-NEWS. October 31, 2014. Romberg-Sears-RZDstroy GmbH, a joint venture between RZD Stroy, a subsidiary of JSC Russian Railways, and the Swiss-Austrian holding company Romberg-Sears, has conducted a technical audit of a railway project on the island of Kalimantan in the Republic of Indonesia.

An agreement to commence the technical audit was signed by Oleg Toni, the Managing Director of RZD Stroy, and Stephan Knittel, a member of the supervisory board of the joint venture. The signing took place during the international forum "Construction. Innovation and Partnership. Open Dialogue", which was held in Sochi.

The remit of the technical audit includes an assessment of the source data used for preparing the technical design specifications for the railway line and associated infrastructure. This work will provide a clear understanding of the project's possibilities under the existing conditions and an assessment of the possible risks.

The joint venture Romberg-Sears-RZDstroy GmbH was established by OJSC RZD Stroy and the Swiss-Austrian holding company Romberg-Sears in September 2014. It is planned that the joint venture will participate in international tenders for the construction and future management of infrastructure projects. The joint venture has received the opportunity to participate in the construction of a railway line in the Republic of Indonesia.

Romberg-Sears is among European companies which offer innovative technologies in the design and construction of modern railways, including high-speed and high-speed lines.
