According to the organizers, Pavlodar Region was not chosen randomly as a venue for the forum. Of the 124 projects shown at ErtysInvest 2014, a dominant amount falls for traditional industries in the region - manufacturing and agriculture.

As the Minister of Investment and Development Asset Issekeshev stressed, today Pavlodar is one of the most industrialized regions of the country.

"Kazakh President declared policy of industrialization of small and medium businesses, to attract foreign direct investment. The forum will give a good push in this direction. Today, the Government of Kazakhstan has signed agreements with a number of such financial institutions as the World Bank, the European Bank, the Islamic Development Bank and the Asian Development Bank, and the amount of agreements is over USD 12 billion. They will be directed to support both businesses and infrastructure," he said.

"There are different projects in forum’s portfolio - from very small, an investment of USD 19.7 thousand. (organizing production of pine seeds "Shishkosushilka") to very large – USD 503 million (construction of a plant for soda ash production). Quick public service, secure business environment, reliable partnership and stability of arrangements. That's something that we must provide to investors as an authority," the head of the region said.
