OREANDA-NEWS. Vyksa Steel Works (VSW Open Joint Stock Company, based in the Nizhny Novgorod region, part of OMK) has held successful trials of technological equipment at the new external anti-corrosion coating line for large diameter pipes (AKP-1).

The pilot operation resulted in a three-layer external anti-corrosion coating for a pipe with a diameter of 1020 mm and 12 mm thick walls. The line is planned for commissioning in the first quarter of 2015 after the finalization of all testing and certification procedures. The line's production capacity is 750 sq m per hour.

"We have made an important step towards commissioning the new line which will increase output and will improve the quality of the coated pipes produced by the factory. The line will expand the range of the pipe products to ensure fuller satisfaction of the need for the pipes that the domestic oil and gas companies have and to comply with the most advanced world standards," said Sergey Filippov, Managing Director of VSW.
