OREANDA-NEWS. Ingosstrakh-Life Insurance Company continues to effect payments to the rightful heirs of the victims of the plane crash that occurred at the end of 2013 near Irkutsk. As of October 23, 2014 payments were made to the heirs of seven people who died in the crash. The total amount of compensation of RUB 16.8 m was paid. Payments will be also made to the relatives of two more deceased upon the submission of documents confirming the right of heirship.

To recap, on December 26, 2013 at about 09:45 pm local time, AN-12 aircraft, which was on the route Irkutsk-Novosibirsk-Irkutsk, crashed in an Irkutsk suburb, near Batareinaya Station of East Siberian Railway, while approaching Vostochny airfield. When the aircraft was 1 km away from the runway of the airport, it disappeared from radar screens. During the fall the aircraft touched the buildings of the warehouses of a military unit and was completely destroyed.

All the members of the crew of An-12 who died in the plane crash on December 26 were insured under the collective agreement of accident insurance with the IC Ingosstrakh-Life LLC. The insurant under the contract is Irkut Corporation OJSC. The contract of insurance for 1 year was concluded in July 2013 and provided insurance for crew members of Irkut Corporation aircraft against the risks of death, disability and trauma as a result of an accident.

Irkut Corporation OJSC and Ingosstrakh Insurance Company have cooperated since 2004. In July 2014 Irkut Corporation OJSC concluded a new contract of collective accident insurance for the personnel of the company.
