OREANDA-NEWS. The risks involved in the launch of Soyuz-2.1a carrier rocket with a manned spacecraft Progress М-25M and its subsequent coupling with the International Space Station were insured by SOGAZ OJSC and Ingosstrakh Insurance Company for the amount of RUB 1.61 bn. The insurant was the Federal State Unitary Enterprise Center for Operation of Space Ground-Based Infrastructure (FSUE TSENKI).

The spacecraft and the launch vehicle were insured against the risk of total loss during emergency launch. Progress was also insured against total loss in the period of coupling with the International Space Station (ISS).

The agreement was concluded on the terms of coinsurance pursuant to the results of public tender. Each company has a share of 50%.

Carrier rocket Soyuz-2.1a with Progress М-25M spacecraft was launched on the 29th of October at 10:09 Moscow Time from Baikonur cosmodrome. 6 hours later, the manned spacecraft docked with the International Space Station (ISS). The ship delivered to the ISS more than 2.5 tons of cargo: components of fuel for keeping the orbit of the ISS, food, water, and air for the crew, scientific equipment and devices for the operation of the ISS, parcels for the astronauts, and other products and expendable materials.
