OREANDA-NEWS. November 13, 2014. POSCO hosted the 2014 POSCO Global EVI Forum for three days at the Incheon Songdo Convensia. The forum was a chance for POSCO to highlight its differentiated customized activities and broad-range of solution marketing.

POSCO Global EVI (Early Vendor Involvement) is a customized marketing festival to strengthen business partnerships with customers, while at the same time facilitating interaction, exchange and cooperation with potential global clients.

Under the theme of `From Steel Supplier to Solution Partner`, this year`s forum was the largest forum ever attended, with more than 1,200 participants from over 500 global clients attending, including outstanding domestic automobile, shipbuilding and electronic appliance companies as well as global carmakers such as Volkswagen, Nissan, Ford and Fiat.

The president of POSCO, Kwon Oh-joon, emphasized in his keynote speech that, ?We will endeavor to show differentiated technologies and products customized to our clients by developing POSCO solution marketing and the development of the best steel in the world. We aim to contribute to clients` success and development in the future.?

During the event, POSCO entered into more than 100 technology and sales agreements in private with global clients, with research and technology agreements and sales contracts signed for lightweight and high strength automotive steel products. The unique technologies of POSCO were particularly praised, including its hot press forming steel, which was recently used in the Renault`s hybrid concept car `EOLAB`. Other noteworthy additions included POSCO`s magnesium plating and TWIP steel, which received much attention from global client companies.

In the industrial session, POSCO discussed the development of growing industries and the arrangement of cooperation plans with its main client companies. Discussions were arranged into six major industrial programs, including automobile, energy, shipbuilding, electricity, electronic, construction, stainless, and wire rod.

There were hosted discussions about industrial technology trends, followed by topic-based presentations. Noteworthy examples included a presentation on technology development designed to lighten the weight of automobiles that was undertaken by Volkswagen in Germany; the development of Hadfield steel LNG tanks from Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering; and the usage of wire rods in the marine industry by KISWIRE.

In addition, POSCO signed a `Joint research agreement on the technology development to prevent corrosion of stainless steel` to push forward the development of a corrosion prevention technology for waterworks facilities with the Office of Waterworks Seoul Metropolitan Government. The company signaled that it was committed to continuing cooperation for technology and joint marketing activities with major domestic and international construction, electronic appliance, stainless and wire rod client companies.

POSCO has hosted a bi-annual forum focused on automotive companies since 2008, and expanded the forum to all industry client companies, such as automobile, energy, shipbuilding, electricity, electronic, construction, stainless, and wire rods for the first time among steel companies since 2010 .
