OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus exported USD 1.37 million worth of butter to Ukraine in January-August 2014, down 5 times year on year, the national statistical committee Belstat said in a report.

In physical terms, Belarus' exported 175 tonnes of butter to Ukraine in January-August 2014, down 7.5 times.

Butter prices grew from USD 5,251 per tonne in Jan-Aug 2013 to USD 7,950 per tonne in Jan-Aug 2014.

Belarus exported 69,279 tonnes of butter worth USD 373.91 million in 2013 (USD 5,397 per tonne), 2012 - 85,570 tonnes worth USD 373.900 million (USD 3,692).

Belarus' controls 8% of the global market of butter exports, Russia being the principal destination.
