OREANDA-NEWS. TENEX has completed a series of trials to fine-tune the operation of a new uranium product transport route via the Russian Far East.

On 19 November 2014, a new shipment, the fifth in the past two years, was successfully dispatched from the Primorye Territory's Vostochny Seaport to the Republic of Korea. The shipped material is intended for use in producing fuel for nuclear power stations.

This serves as another practical proof that the Far East transport corridor is suitable for regular commercial deliveries of the Russian nuclear industry's high technology products to Asia-Pacific countries - the route will be used on a regular basis from 2015 onwards.

The terminal of Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company (VSC) - which has many years' experience in handling container transhipments and is the largest provider of these services in Russia's Far East - saw the shipment transloaded in the shortest of timeframes possible and in compliance with all applicable safety requirements.

On the Russian side, the project has been carried out by TENEX's subsidiaries SPb IZOTOP and ТENEX-Korea Co., Ltd., in collaboration with ASPOL Baltic Corporation, Federal State Unitary Enterprise SPb Emergency/Technical Centre, and a number of other companies.
