OREANDA-NEWS. November 26, 2014. The Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia), Igor Artemiev, addressed a workshop for the heads of the authorities – members of the Council of Legislators at the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.

The Head of the antimonopoly body informed participants about new FAS powers to ensure efficient control of prices on the market of defence products and competitive bidding for public defence procurement.

He also informed the Council about the adopted Standards for developing competition in the constituent territories of the Russian Federation. “The meaning of the programme is to support competent cooperation between the authorities and business community in the regions”, pointed out Igor Artemiev.

He added that thanks to an Order of the President of the Russian Federation of 4 November 2014, from 2015 governors’ performance will be evaluated factoring in the level of competition development in the regions.

The Head of FAS also reminded participants about the provisions of the “forth antimonopoly package” drafted to execute the “Road Map” and OECD Recommendations. The draft Law is adopted by the State Duma of the Russian Federation in the first reading.

Concluding the workshop, Igor Artemiev answered questions from members of the Council of Legislators.
