OREANDA-NEWS. Polet Chelyabinsk Radio Plant, a subsidiary of the United Instrument Manufacturing Corporation (UIMC), is completing the delivery of new-generation navigation systems to Vietnam. The company is exporting two systems: an RSBN-4NM short-range radio navigation system and a PRMG-76UM radio beacon landing system.

The exports of Polet's products are handled through Rosoboronexport as part of a combined shipment of aviation technology assets to Vietnam.

“New-generation RSBN and PRMG ground-based equipment has no peers in Russia; Polet Radio Plant, a Concern Vega subsidiary is the only manufacturer of such equipment in the country,” Deputy CEO of the United Instrument Manufacturing Corporation Sergey Skokov said. “The current model of the equipment relies on the latest microprocessors and is successfully used at Russian airfields and airports.”

The RSBN-4NM short-range radio navigation system continuously informs fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft crews of their position on a straight route or orbit within the beacon's reach; automatically guiding an aircraft to any intended point (within the system's range) regardless of visibility conditions; and supports ground control of movements by aircraft interacting with the beacons.

The system is a key short-range navigation system for air routes, on landing approaches for both civil and military airplanes and helicopters. The high precision of data transmission and reception is not affected by visibility.

The PRMG-76UM radio beacon landing system can ensure landing approach and precision landing both during the day and at nighttime at permanent second-tier airfields at Category I and II weather-linked altitude minimums. The PRMG-76UM is 500 kilograms lighter and consumes only half the energy needed to power previous versions of the system.

The system is capable of automatically switching to a backup network and can operate 24 hours without a permanent attendant. The system can be used on basic, remote and temporary airfields.

Polet Chelyabinsk Radio Plant's products shipped to Vietnam under a previous contract has been successfully operated in the Southeast Asian country since 2012, garnering positive feedback from the customers. According to CEO of the Polet Chelyabinsk Radio Plant Evgeny Nikitin, this is the second delivery of the company's products to Vietnam in three years.

“RSBN-4NM, PRMG-76UM systems have been designed and manufactured in a way to ensure safe operation in all macro climate zones of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Our company continues negotiating contracts and organizing future deliveries of navigation and aircraft landing systems for the benefit of our Vietnamese customers,” Evgeny Nikitin clarified.

The United Instrument Manufacturing Corporation has recently begun delivery to Vietnam of communication equipment for military airfields under the same Rosoboronexport contract, the ground-based NKVS-27 communication system manufactured by Polet Science and Technology Company of Nizhniy Novgorod and intended to establish networks, communication channels and channels for data exchange with Sukhoi Su-27-SKM, Su-30-MK2, Su-35 tactical aircraft and other aircraft types.
