OREANDA-NEWS. St. Petersburg GM plant at the beginning of 2015 will start SKD-assembly of SUVs Chevrolet Tahoe and Cadillac Escalade of new generation. Currently, by the SKD-method is already produced SUV Chevrolet Trail Blazer. As the CEO of “GM Auto”, Romuald Rytvinski, said before, the company has the ability to produce up to 7000 cars in SKD mode. The basis of the production of GM plant in St. Petersburg consists of model Chevrolet Cruze and Opel Astra, which are produced on a full cycle. According to sources of the newspaper “Kommersant”, in the spring of 2016, the company may also start the production of crossover Opel Mokka.

Meanwhile, Russian Chevrolet dealers are already taking pre-orders for the new Chevrolet Tahoe. The cost of the basic configuration LT starts from 2, 846,000 rubles, and LTZ configuration is available from 3 100 000 rubles. The car is equipped with a 6.2-liter V8 engine together with a new 6-speed automatic transmission.

The flagship SUV Cadillac Escalade is also already available for order at Russian dealers Cadillac, and the first cars will go on sale at the end of the first quarter of 2015. The new Escalade is offered exclusively with all-wheel drive and an updated 6.2-liter V8 - with increased up to 623 Nm of torque. The cost of the basic configuration starts at 3.5 million Rubles.
