OREANDA-NEWS. November 28, 2014. Deputy Economics Minister Octavian Calmic participated in the 2014 Eastern European Business Forum Business in Berlin.
 
Among the event's organisers were the German Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations, which marks its 25th anniversary. Attending the forum were representatives of the political, economic and diplomatic environment from more countries.

During this year's issue of the “German Economy's Day”, the attention was focused on the states with which the European Union signed the Association Agreement: Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine. In the context of the current evolutions in the Eastern Europe and in order to boost the mutually advantageous cooperation and peaceful neighbourhood, the above-mentioned countries presented to German companies business opportunities provided by the Association Agreement. Thus, the forum offered a successful platform to launch talks on investment opportunities and negotiate possible projects.

In his speech, Octavian Calmic presented the benefits provided by the investment environment, encouraged foreign partners to intervene with financial flows in Moldova, to benefit from facilities created for the business environment, by improving the national legislation according to the international practice, to inspect the industrial parks and free economic zones, etc.

At the same time, Calmic, together with representatives of other states, participated in talks of a panel focused on problems that Ukraine was facing for the moment. Calmic highlighted the achievements and failures that Moldova dealt with on its way to sign and ratify the Association Agreement with EU. The participants in the panel also approached items referring to the agricultural and food industries, environmental economy, industry, etc.
