OREANDA-NEWS. November 28, 2014. The cost of the inspection and certification of agricultural products intended for export in Moldova has been reduced by about 20-30%.

This was announced by the Secretariat of the Economic Council at the Prime Minister, reminding that facilitation of export named Moldovan products by reducing the cost of its verification and certification was discussed at the meeting of the Economic Council in September 2014, and then the head of the government instructed the competent authorities to simplify procedures and reduce the costs for the inspection and certification of agricultural and agro-food products intended for export.

After a number of technical meetings organized by the Secretariat of the Economic Council at the Prime Minister, many laboratories at the Ministry of agriculture, the Ministry of health and the National Agency for food safety, reduced tariffs for testing agricultural and agro-food products intended for export. In particular, the Centre for standardization and quality control of canned food production has reduced tariffs on the laboratory inspections of pesticides and nitrates in vegetable production by 19%-32%. For example, the fare for determination of pesticides was reduced from 300,9 up to 205 lei. The national wine centre and certification of alcoholic beverages has reduced its rates by 20% for the companies paying the cost of the laboratory services. It is also provided free testing certificate VI-1 for the companies, for the first time exporting products to the EU, as well as reducing the cost of re-testing of material from the same batch.

The center for standardization and quality assessment of forage and grain products reduced rates on the laboratory tests by 20%. For example, a new tariff for laboratory analysis of samples of soybean was reduced by 348 lei from 1740 up to 1392 lei. State centre for certification and testing of means for the phyto-sanitary purposes has reduced administrative costs, which led to a decrease of about 25% on the tariff for the laboratory studies of the plant origin products. Currently, the cost of analysis is 568 lei; the new tariff will be 193 leis less. In addition, he National center for certification of seed materials till the end of this year will reduce rates for re-testing of samples and certified samples of the same batch by 20%.

The laboratory should also take other measures to optimize costs and internal procedures, in particular: to develop an electronic system for filing online applications for the study of samples; to increase the validity of laboratory results; to reduce the number of analyses using traceability investigated first product; to equip the laboratory with the new equipment for research at the European standards, as well as change the program of work, making it favorable for economic actors in the harvesting period.
