OREANDA-NEWS. November 28, 2014. For 9 months of 2014 2365 new apartments with a total area 246,6 thousand square meters, or 15.5% less compared with the same period of 2013 were commissioned in Moldova.

As it was informed in the National Bureau of statistics, at the expense of own funds of the population in January-September 2014 1097 individual houses with a total area of 155,9 thousand square meters, which is 12.7% less than at the same period of 2013 were commissioned.

It amounted to 63.2% of the total volume of housing commissioned in the country for 9 months of 2014. Distribution of houses by the location shows that in particular, in the urban areas of Moldova in January-September 2014 were commissioned 1896 apartments with a total area 189,1 thousand square meters, which is less compared to the same period of the last year by 17.9%.

In rural areas were built 469 housing units with area of 57.5 thousand square meters, or 6.3% less in comparison with the same period of 2013. In the total, the share of housing introduced in urban areas decreased from 78.9% (for 9 months. 2013) to 76.7% (for 9 months of 2014). The share of housing in the rural areas has increased from 21.1% to 23.3%.

At the regional level, the largest volume of new housing was registered in Chisinau, where in January-September 2014 were commissioned 1713 new apartments with a total area of 172.8 thousand square meters (70.1 percent of the total in the country), or 23.2% less than at the same period of 2013.

In the Northern region of the country were commissioned 229 new apartments with a total area of 26 thousand square meters (-10,3%), central - 254 apartments of 27,8 thousand square meters (+18.1 percent), south - 91 apartments with an area of 10.7 thousand square meters (+34,1%), in Gagauzia - 78 apartments with the area of 9.3 thousand square meters (+45,4%).
