OREANDA-NEWS. Swachhta March in Unison for Clean India.

The smart, vibrant and energetic Coast Guard Republic day contingent, which can be seen in the wee morning hours every day on Noida roads sweating out for their preparations for forthcoming Republic Day, devoted themselves with equal effervescence towards the “Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan” by undertaking a Swachhta walk from Sector 24, Noida to Sector 52 covering sector 23, sector 34 and adjoining areas. This 10 kilometer long march exclusively dedicated towards ongoing national cleanliness drive was flagged off by Addl Director General Rajendra Singh. The march which had around 350 participants was also joined by the other Coast Guard personnel, their family members, school children and Noida Authority personnel.

The aim of the march was not only to clean the area but also to spread awareness about the utility of the campaign to the residents and other personnel in the area. It was one of the largest group activities that have been seen in Noida, since launch of the campaign carrying out the mission in its truest sense. The contingent divided into 25 small groups worked in unison to remove garbage, torn banners/ hoardings, beautification and sanitization of surroundings. Few of the residents, onlookers also joined the campaign along the route.

The march was one of the major activities organized in a series of events that have been conducted by the Indian Coast Guard since the launch of Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan from 25 Sep 2014 by the Hon’ble Prime Minister. Many more similar events are lined up towards supporting the cause.
