In the period January–November 2014 the volume of foreign currency trading on Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), including currency swap transactions, made up KZT25,953.6 bn (equivalent of USD145,344.3 mln) increasing against the same period of 2013 1.6 times (1.4 times in dollar terms).

In comparison with the previous eleven month period (February–December 2013) the trading volume increased by 49.7 % (27.8 % in dollar terms).

The weighted average rate of the tenge to the US dollar, calculated on all deals of the main (morning) trading session on KASE in the period from January 3, 2014 to November 30, 2014, made up KZT179.67 per US dollar, on all exchange deals – KZT178.82 per US dollar.

The tenge devaluated against the US dollar on the weighted average exchange rate at 19.13 % APR in the current year.

In the initial eleven months of 2014 the devaluation rate of the tenge to the US dollar in nominal terms made up 17.40 %.

In 2013 the devaluation rate of the tenge to US dollar in nominal terms made up 2.20 %.

In 2012 the revaluation rate of the tenge to the US dollar in nominal terms made up 1.58 %.
