OREANDA-NEWS. ENEVA informs that the First Generating Unit (GU01) of the Pecem I power plant, a 50%/50% partnership between ENEVA and EDP - Energias do Brasil, in Ceara, has resumed operation. On August 25, 2014, the GU01 faced a shutdown due to its generator stator burnout, which was replaced with the objective of reducing downtime and to enhance reliability of operations. The repairs were performed by Pecem I operations team and experts from Siemens, generator manufacturer, in collaboration with ENEVA and EDP technicians.

The investment to replace the generator will be covered by current property damage liability insurance. The outage recorded during the period of 87 days will be covered by business interruption insurance from the 61st to the 87th day and will impact the unavailability reimbursement calculation as of 2016 for a period of 60 months.

Pecem I thermoelectric power plant, a 50%/50% partnership between ENEVA and EDP - Energias do Brasil, uses pulverized coal to generate energy from two 360 MW modules, totaling 720 MW. The plant is located in the municipality of Sгo Gonзalo do Amarant, in Ceara.
