OREANDA-NEWS. The Uralhimmash Plant carries out acceptance testing of the trial model slide valve. The device is made of carbon steel, capable of operating at temperatures of minus 60°C, can withstand seismic activity up to 10 points.

Works are carried out as part of the R&D project "Development of slide valves". This program has been approved by the OMZ parent organization. The project was developed by specialists of CJSC Scientific and Production Company Central Design Bureau of Valve Industry (CKBA).

Slide valves are used as a locking device on the main crude oil pipelines and crude oil products pipelines in the technological schemes of pumping stations and tank farms, slide valves ensure safe operation of the main crude oil pipelines and crude oil product pipelines.

The test device undergoes acceptance tests as part of a project for manufacture and supply of equipment for Transneft, OJSC. To this date, the test device has successfully passed climatic and seismic tests in the Rocket Center of the Russian Federation FSUE TsNIIMash. The tests were carried out in a special explosion-proof box with a two-meter concrete walls and double steel safe doors. This box is intended for testing missile technology with temperature exposure.

The equipment has currently been prepared for destructive testing with the number of 1500 actuations and load testing for connecting pipes. Those will be carried out by specialists of CJSC Scientific and Production Company Central Design Bureau of Valve Industry (St. Petersburg), the tests are to be also attended by representatives of Transneft, OJSC. In parallel with the basic tests according to the newly introduced requirements, laboratory tests of wear-resistant protective coating of the slide valve will be carried out. Those will be carried out at the facilities of NII of Oil and Oil Products Transportation LLC (Moscow).

After all the planned tests are completed, the device will pass through a number of acceptance tests to be conducted on the site of Uralhimmash, OJSC with participation of specialists of RosTekhExpertisa under the supervision of representatives of Transneft, OJSC. A mandatory part of the test is to ensure that the conditions and requirements for applying anti-corrosion coating are complied with.

In case of successful completion of the entire series of tests, Uralhimmash, OJSC will receive a certificate of conformity and declaration of conformity of the equipment with the Technical Regulations of the Customs Union. Also following the results of the tests the plant will get an opinion on compliance of the trial model slide valve with necessary technical requirements.

These certification documents are intended to confirm that the plant is ready to produce this kind of equipment that will meet all regulatory requirements of Transneft, OJSC. This will allow Uralkhimmash, OJSC to get into the registry of suppliers of products for Transneft, OJSC. This will give the plant the right to participate in tender procedures of Transneft, OJSC for the supply of slide valves.

OJSC Uralhimmash manufactures equipment for petrochemical and oil and gas processing industries, the chemical industry, iron & steel and non-ferrous metallurgy, companies in conventional and nuclear energy generation sectors and for the construction industry. Uralhimmash is certified to manufacture high-pressure vessels as required by the ASME Code (Section VIII, Division 1, Stamp U). In April 2011 Uralhimmash has successfully passed an audit for expansion of the certification area under the ASME Code (Section VIII, Division 2, stamp U2). OJSC Uralhimmash's strategic partner is Gazprombank.
