OREANDA-NEWS. Japanese carmaker Nissan plans in 2015 to keep the volume of sales in Russia at the level of 2014. It was stated by the head of Nissan Europe, Paul Willcox, by adding that this year the company expects sales of around 155,000 vehicles (with the three brands - Nissan, Infiniti and Datsun). According to him, in the future, the Russian car market will decline by 5-10% compared to 2014 year. As stated Paul Willcox, Russian company has serious ambitions, and in 2016 it "seeks to achieve a 10 per cent market share with brands Nissan and Datsun".

He also said that Nissan plans in mid-2015 to begin the production of a new model of the C-segment in Russia at the site in Izhevsk. The head of Nissan Europe said that it is "about the compact-car of C-segment, not crossover".

At this moment in Togliatti there are produced models Nissan Almera and Datsun on-DO, in Izhevsk - Nissan Sentra. "Within the strategic partnership between the Renault-Nissan alliance and AvtoVAZ in 2015 at plants in Togliatti and Izhevsk it will be produced totally three Nissan models and two models of Dutsun. It is new Nissan Sentra, which is already being produced in Izhevsk, and another model, which will be announced later, as well as new Datsun mi-DO", - "TASS" agency cited the words of Mr. Willcox.

According to the head of Nissan Europe, the management of automaker does not exclude that the next generation of crossover Juke will be assembled in Russia. "For the current generation Juke has no plans to begin the assembly in Russia, it would be economically unfeasible. As for the new generation, we now consider the issue within the company, where we could begin the production. In this context, Russia is also in the list of places under consideration", - said Mr.Willcox, by adding that the decision was not made, and on terms we can speak about the medium-term planning. According to him, one of the key points of the company's strategy - is the preservation of leadership in the category of crossovers and high-grade SUVs.
