OREANDA-NEWS. December 19, 2014. The official opening ceremony has been held for the new campus of Sberbank’s Corporate University.

The ceremony was attended by Mikhail Abyzov, Minister of the Russian Federation for Open Government Affairs; Sergey Ignatiev, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Sberbank; Herman Gref, Chief Executive Officer, Chairman of the Board of Sberbank; and Valery Katkalo, Dean of Sberbank’s Corporate University. Members of the Supervisory Board of Sberbank were guests of honour.

The campus of Sberbank’s Corporate University occupies a 26.5-hectare area and fits in well with the unique natural landscape of the Moscow Region’s Istrinsky District. The campus has been designed taking into account best international practice of creating corporate learning centres and is unparalleled in Russia. The campus’s multifunctional infrastructure enables Sberbank to hold world-class training programmes: there are a total of 38 lecture rooms for 1,300 students, a library and media library, a 300-room hotel complex, and sports centre complete with a swimming pool.

Autonomous Not-for-profit organisation (ANO) Sberbank’s Corporate University was founded in March 2012 as a 100% subsidiary of Sberbank of Russia. In April 2014 Sberbank’s Corporate University received a licence to carry out supplementary professional education programmes. The portfolio of the Corporate University includes more than 40 customised programmes for developing the leadership, management and professional competencies of 36,000 Sberbank managers. Training at Sberbank’s Corporate University is unique as the Bank’s key managers are taught according to the “Leaders Teach Leaders” system, a number of landmark programmes are held together with the world’s leading business schools, and remote and electronic learning formats are widely used.
