OREANDA-NEWS. Transstroymekhanizatsiya (TSM), a Mostotrest subsidiary, will build airfield infrastructure at the Southern Airport Complex in the Rostov region. Located in the Aksai district, the new airport will replace the existing Rostov-on-Don airport. Stage 1 of the project is scheduled for completion in late 2017.

The project is commissioned by the Federal State Unitary Enterprise "Civil Airports (Aerodromes) Administration". Contract value: RUB16.2 billion (including VAT); execution timeline: 36 months, with completion scheduled for late 2017.

As part of the project, TSM will build a new 3.6 km x 45 m runway, taxiways, a cargo platform, an aircraft deicing aprons, an air traffic control tower, main and lift-off rescue stations, a patrol road and sewage treatment facilities. In addition, the project envisages construction of a parking apron for 45 aircraft and installation of radio, lighting and meteorological equipment for Category 2 landing from both directions.

According to TSM Deputy CEO Vasily Ochinsky, development of the new airport infrastructure is a challenge within the Company's scope of abilities:

The Company has implemented more than 10 airport construction and upgrade projects, with execution in progress under the contracts to develop Vnukovo, Sheremetyevo, Saratov and Ufa airports. Tremendous experience in managing similar projects, highly skilled staff, advanced technology and a large fleet of specialized machinery and vehicles will ensure execution of the new contract in full and on time."
