OREANDA-NEWS. German automaker BMW Group in the IV quarter of 2014 due to a sharp devaluation of the ruble could loose in the Russian market, according to analysts' estimates, up to 150 million Euros. The Bavarian company has already begun to redistribute cars to more attractive markets at the beginning of the summer.

According to "Za rulem.RF", an even greater impact the leap of ruble may have on the results of other Russian auto companies, including Daimler AG, Renault and Hyundai Motor. A number of companies, including Audi, General Motors, KIA and Jaguar Land Rover, stopped the supply and sale of cars in the Russian market due to the instability of the ruble, since the beginning of June the value of the national currency fell by 40%. According to experts, the country is experiencing the biggest financial crisis since 1998. In addition, a number of foreign automakers, including Renault, Volkswagen, as well as a joint plant PSA Peugeot Citroen and Mitsubishi, stopped temporarily the production of cars in Russia because of the volatility of the ruble.
