OREANDA-NEWS. Over a hundred employees from the Moscow office of United Metallurgical Company (OMK Joint Stock Company, based in Moscow) took part in the annual "Write Grandfather Frost a Letter" event which was held on December 1-20, 2014. They fulfilled the New Year's wishes of children from Pelikan, the Vyksa-based social and rehabilitation center.

The event yielded over 100 surprise gifts which relayed best wishes for the New Year. The gifts were sent to Vyksa, home to OMK's biggest factories, Vyksa Steel Works (VSW Joint Stock Company) and the Casting and Rolling Complex (CRC, an affiliate of OMK Steel Joint Stock Company).

All the presents will be given to children from Pelikan during the New Year's celebrations.

"We are very grateful to all of our colleagues for being responsive and kind-hearted. I am happy that this year, as in the previous year, the children of our employees took part in this event. The orphaned children's most treasured dream is to live and grow up in a family environment, and to finally find a family of their own. This is a complex task, but it is manageable with the help of a project aimed at preventing orphaned children, setting up family environments, and providing guidance for orphans. We are planning to hold a competition among state facilities and non-governmental organizations in Vyksa and to give out a grant to generate such projects," said Alexander Kastravets, OMK's PR Director.
