OREANDA-NEWS. In January-November 2014, export from Georgia to Russia increased by 57% (by USD 92 million) as against January-November 2013 and totaled about USD 254 million – 9,7% of the total volume of Georgia’s export - told in the National Statistics Office of Georgia "GeoStat".

In the reporting period, natural grape wines were exported to Russia to the amount of about USD 104 million, that is by USD 56 million more than in January-November 2013. Export of mineral water increased by USD 37 million and totaled USD 62,9 million, while export of alcohol drinks – by USD 13 million and totaled USD 17 million. At the same time, car export dropped by USD 14 million and made USD 16,2 million.

There was a drop in the volume of import from Russian to Georgia in the reporting period. In January-November 2014, imports from Russia to Georgia dropped by 18,5% as against the same period of the last year and totaled USD 498,5 million – 6,4% of Georgia’s total import volume.

Import of oil gases and gaseous hydrocarbon (natural gas) in the reporting period made 146 thousand ton, amounting to USD 56,1 million, that is by USD 17 million more than in January-November 2013, while energy import increased by USD 12,6 million and totaled USD 35,4 million. 47,5 thousand tons of oil and oil products were imported from Russia to Georgia, amounting to USD 45 million, that is by USD 58 million less than in January-November year. Crops were imported to the amount of USD 116 million, by USD 11,2 million less than in the same period of 2013.

In January-November 2014, Russia was the third major commercial partner of Georgia. Foreign trade turnover of Georgia with Russia in the reporting period made over USD 752,2million, by 11% more than in January-November 2013. Turnover with Russia in the reporting period made 7,3% of Georgia’s total foreign trade turnover.
