OREANDA-NEWS. Eng. Sherif Ismail, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, and Dr. Youcef Yousfi, Algerian Minister of Energy and Mines, witnessed the signing of a contract to supply Egypt with 6 LNG shipments from Algeria with the amounts of 850 thousand cubic meters starting from April 2015 till September to provide part of the Electricity Sector's needs, next summer.

Eng. Khaled Abdel Badei, the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (Egas) Chairman signed the contract with the Algerian company Sonatrach Chairman. The talks tackled discussing providing Algerian LNG shipments over the period 2016 - 2020.

The Minister of Petroleum added that Egas currently is financially evaluating the tender announced to import 48 LNG shipments annually to fill the shortage of natural gas so as to meet the domestic market requirements.
