OREANDA-NEWS. December 25, 2014, the agreement on cooperation within the framework of the construction project of the Postal Logistics Center in Novosibirsk region was signed between the Government of the Novosibirsk region, the Federal Customs Service of Russia, Russian Post FSUE and Airport Tolmachevo OJSC.

It is expected that the Postal Logistics Center with the total area of 40 thousand sq. meters will be commissioned by the end of 2018. Its capacity will exceed 1 million parcels per day. After putting into operation the Postal Logistics Center will become a key center of mail processing throughout the Siberian Federal District, as well as a major postal transit hub between the Far East regions and the European part of Russia.

NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport will provide the premises and ground areas for construction of the mail center and will assist in connecting the center to utility facilities. Furthermore, the Tolmachevo airport will continue its work on increasing of number and frequencies of regular flight operations on foreign destinations, including through the attraction of new Russian and foreign air carriers.

NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport is the largest air hub in Russia east of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The capacity of domestic terminal makes up to 1,800 passengers per hour, while the international terminal capacity - up to 750 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways of ICAO I and II Categories.
