OREANDA-NEWS.  GM-AVTOVAZ in 2015 expects to reduce the production to the last year and it intends to adjust its output depending on the market situation. The press service of the joint venture informed the agency "AUTOSTAT", noting that in the terms of a weakening of Russian economy the company expects the change of demand to more affordable segments, where Chevrolet Niva is presented.

"Due to the weakening economy and currency fluctuations in the Russian market, the purchasing power of the population in the current year compared to previous years will be significantly reduced, which will cause a significant drop in the level of total car sales. Naturally, it will make a direct impact on our business, and as a result, we expect that the production and sales of Chevrolet Niva will be decreased in comparison with 2012, 2013 and 2014. In some way to balance these losses, we expect due to the fact that some buyers, who are still planning to buy a car in 2015, will go into more affordable segments, choosing cheaper cars than it was previously planned. In any case, we are ready for adjusting of volume, depending on the situation and adapt to changing economic and market conditions, "- said the press service of GM-AvtoVAZ.

By the end of 2014 the conveyor of JV produced 45,067 vehicles – it is less by 22.2% than the previous year (57,939 units). Last year, GM-AvtoVAZ sold dealers 46,023 Chevrolet Niva (-18,7%), also export deliveries to CIS countries were 3981 vehicles (-0.8%).

Recall, starting from January 1st, 2015, the retail price of cars Chevrolet Niva of all configurations was increased by 20 thousand rubles. Thus, the price of car Chevrolet Niva L is 489,000 rubles, LC - 518 thousand rubles, LE-conditioned - 547,000 rubles, GLS - 560 thousand, GLC - 587,000 rubles. Higher prices for cars in the GM-AvtoVAZ are explained by the rise in price of components and external factors.
