OREANDA-NEWS. Ingosstrakh Insurance Company has paid more than 350 million rubles to Hyperglobus LLC, the Russian representative office of Globus, an international chain of retail hypermarkets. The payment was made in connection to the damage to the insured property caused by fire in the warehouse of Globe hypermarket in Vladimir.

The property owned by the hypermarket was insured under the general conditions of industrial and commercial enterprises insurance against the risks of fire, lightning, gas explosion, natural disasters, water damage, theft with trespassing, robbery and malicious acts of third parties.

The incident occurred in May 2014. Fire started inside the warehouse of Globe hypermarket in Vladimir, in the inventory and the interior decoration of the building. The blaze destroyed the building of the warehouse and food and consumer goods stored there. The inventory kept in the retail area and the property of the lessees were also seriously damaged.

A survey company was hired to assess the damage, and its preliminary report was used to establish the current reserve in the amount of RUB 610 m for the compensation payment. Based on the analysis of the documents submitted, the case was recognized as an insured event, and advance payments were made in respect of the amounts that are indisputably due, totaling RUB 350.6 m. The work on the settlement of the loss is continued.
