OREANDA-NEWS. In 2014, 313 million initial payments totaling UAH 14,409.8 billion were effected through the system of electronic payments run by the National Bank of Ukraine (hereinafter, the SEP), being less by 9.9% in quantity and more by 13.6% in value, than in the previous year.

In 2014, as in the previous year, on average, 1.25 million initial payments amounting to UAH 57.4 billion were processed through the SEP per day, which indicates the system's sound performance.

Most initial payments were sent to the SEP by the Ukrainian banks and amounted to 291.1 million documents (the number of transactions on the initial payments effected by the banks accounted for 93% of the total transactions made through the SEP, the same figure as in 2013).

In 2014, the daily average balance of funds on the SEP participants' accounts has increased by 23.3% and reached UAH 34.3 billion, compared with the previous year. The money turnover factor on the SEP participants' accounts for the year has declined to 1.67, down from 1.81 in 2013.

These figures suggest that the National Bank of Ukraine has created conditions necessary to meet the needs of the SEP participants in terms of funds transfer and ensured high security and reliability of interbank settlements in the domestic currency.
