OREANDA-NEWS. Alexandr Rantsev, previously Strategic Development and Controlling Director at Power Machines, took up his duties as Director General of Power Machines. The appointment was decided by the Board of Directors on 16 January 2015.

Igor Kostin withdrew from the company for health reasons. The Board of Directors is grateful to Mr. Kostin for many years of outstanding work that propelled the company to the forefront of power engineering both in Russia and abroad.

Alexandr Yurievich Rantsev was born on 27 February 1972 in the town of Danilov, Yaroslavl Oblast.

In 1994 he graduated with honors from Cherepovets Higher Military Engineering School of Radio Electronics with a major in "computing machines, suites, systems and networks", and then received another major in "higher school teaching" at the same school in 2000.

In 2003-2007 he went to Newcastle Business School, Northumbria University (UK), which he graduated from with an MBA. He did his military service in the Armed Forced of the Russian Federation between 1994 and 2001.

In 2001 he was employed by Severstal where he made his way from a specialist of the external project group to a senior manager of the strategic planning department - director of innovative projects.

From 24 October 2007 - Strategic Development and Controlling Director at Power Machines. As he held this position, he also worked as Director at Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod (LMZ) and General Director at Interturbo. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Power Machines, Kaluga Turbine Works and Siemens Gas Turbines Technologies LLC.
