OREANDA-NEWS. The main marine accessory equipment to complete the construction of 121 project tugs is being supplied to NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard according to the import contracts signed.

At the end of January 2015, the sets of main engines were unloaded on the construction site. Each set includes two VOLVO PENTA D16 MH in-line 6-cylinder 4-stroke direct injected turbocharged diesel engines with a volume of 16.15 l each and 442 kW mechanical output at 1800 revolutions per minute. The engines are intended for the work with a two-circuit cooling system.

In addition, the shipbuilding and repair yard received the sets of ZF AT 4111 DM.DA-FP rudder propellers made by ZF Marine Krimpen B.V.(Holland). They are characterized by a fixed-pitch propeller and Z-type transmission. The equipment includes a number of systems, such as cooling, lubricating, fuel, air-induction and electric ones.

The given equipment was chosen taking into consideration technical peculiarities of the vessels. In particular, the Swedish engines with the maintenance systems and shaftings that transmit torque to the Holland rudder propellers will be placed on the upper deck in the insulated containers of the rudder propeller unit. The specialists made such a constructive innovation in connection with the vessel's small draught. This has enabled to reduce the period of construction considerably.

The priority of NIBULON's import activity is to choose leading international companies as suppliers. In order to ensure the construction of 121 project tugs, aluminium metal-roll (AMCO Metall-Service GmbHand Kroger Staal B.V.), a set of air heads and others have been supplied.
