OREANDA-NEWS. Power Machines have proceeded to shipping hydrogenerator equipment, manufactured for the first hydropower unit of Nizhne-Bureyskaya HPP. The Russian power engineering company has so far shipped a stator - the largest component of the generator. The first hydropower unit is scheduled to be completely supplied in March 2015.

The supply contract for four 80 MW hydropower units for Nizhne-Bureyskaya HPP was signed between Nizhne-Bureyskaya HPP OJSC (a RusHydro subsidiary) and Power Machines in October 2013. The contract signing was preceded by a tender, which was won by Power Machines with the best technical and economic solution.

Pursuant to the contract, Power Machines will design, manufacture and supply four sets of hydropower equipment to the Customer, each set consisting of an adjustable-blade hydroturbine complete with an automatic control system, a hydrogenerator complete with an excitation system, and also auxiliary equipment for the hydropower units. In addition, Power Machines will install the units at the HPP.

The hydropower units of Nizhne-Bureyskaya HPP are scheduled to be commissioned in 2016. The plant's hydroturbines will be environmentally sound - the runner cavity, where the blade turning mechanism is located, is designed oil-free, so that oils leaks are eliminated.

The first hydroturbine components have so far arrived at the HPP construction site: embedded pipelines (4 sets), mounting tools for linings and embedded parts, flared suction tube linings (4 sets), scroll linings (4 sets), turbine pit linings (2 sets), runner chamber.
