OREANDA-NEWS. Tele2, an alternative mobile operator, has issued the rating of mobile devices used on Tele2 network. Over 2H14, the share of devices supporting 3G and 4G increased up to 34%.

Tele2 links increase in popularity of data-supporting devices to the launch of its first 3G and 4G networks. At the end of 2014, they started operating in St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region, Novosibirsk, Chelyabinsk, Tambov and Tula.

The most popular devices on the 4G network are Apple iPhone 5/5C/5S, Sony Xperia Z1 and Samsung Galaxy S5.

Smartphones are rapidly spreading on the Tele2 network: in 2H14 their share increased by 3 pps and totaled 30% of overall number of devices on the operator’s network. Unlike in 2013, the main 2014 trend is a lack of pronounced leader in the smartphone segment – the shares are evenly split among different models. The overall number of manufacturers producing this type of devices increased from 86 to 115 over 2H14 on the Tele2 network.

Android, leader of the 1H14 operating systems rating, has reinforced its standings: its share grew 6 pps and totaled 71%. Symbian-operated smartphones are ranked 2nd with their share having dropped by 5 pps down to 12% compared to 1H14. IOS has taken the 3d place (6%) leaving ОС Bada and Windows Phone behind.

A share of devices supporting several active SIM cards totaled 25%. Explay, Alcatel and Fly showed the most rapid growth rates among Dual SIM devices. Samsung and Nokia still top the rating with 31% and 28% correspondently.

Among all devices (excluding modems and tablets) Nokia and Samsung companies still top the rating with their share going down. Apple, Lenovo, Sony, Alcatel and Philips showed positive growth rates in 2H14.

One of the main trends is an increase in modems and tablets on the Tele2 network – their number surged by 100% and 270% correspondently. The top 5 list includes Explay sQuad 7.82, Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 and Prestigio MultiPad 7.0.
