Ukraine was, is and remains a strong supported of peace, as stated by President Petro Poroshenko at the press availability following the 51st Munich Security Conference.

The Head of State has emphasized that the Minsk protocol and the Minsk memorandum were the basis for the settlement of the situation in the Donbas.

"We remain the supporters of these documents and are ready to declare full ceasefire at any moment in order to prevent the growing number of casualties," the President said.

"Leaders of France and Germany fully support us in this context," he noted.

Petro Poroshenko has noted that the given consultations had been continued that day - the coordination work has been held and a phone conversation in the Normandy format is planned for tomorrow. "Tomorrow we will continue discussing urgent issues of de-escalation," the President said.

He has also stressed that the fulfillment of all items of the Minsk agreements was a fundamental issue for Ukraine.

"We must ensure that the Minsk agreements are fully observed," the Head of State noted.

According to him, the political process in the framework of the law on special status of local government in certain districts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions could be started only after the full ceasefire, border closure and liberation of all hostages.
