OREANDA-NEWS. "KazTransOil" JSC (hereinafter - the Company) was among the first major entities in the state energy registry of the Republic of Kazakhstan to finish the energy audit* of its facilities.

The energy audit was conducted pursuant to the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated January 13, 2012 No.541-IV "On energy saving and increasing energy efficiency" aimed at creating a coherent legal framework in the area of energy saving, as well as forming a national infrastructure in this field to ensure the transition of Kazakhstan economy to energy-efficient development.

The energy audit results will be used for the further updating of the Program on energy saving and increasing energy efficiency of the Company for 2015-2019 (hereinafter - the Program).

The set of practical measures within the Program that allow achieving lower energy consumption and increasing energy efficiency includes optimization of technological modes of energy transfer, use of variable-frequency drives, increasing the efficiency of pumping equipment and boilers, installation of water and heat meters, overhaul of technological equipment and heat networks, reduction of unproductive loss of energy for own and economic needs, including optimization of lighting, heating, ventilation, as well as operation of the main and auxiliary equipment, promoting generation based on renewable/alternative energy sources, and bringing innovations in the area of energy saving.

As part of the energy audit, the Company was also developing the energy management system in accordance with the international standard for energy management ISO 50001:2011 "Energy Management System - Requirements with Guidance", including its integration into the existing management system of the company complying with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.

On December 11, 2014, General Director (Chair of the Management Board) K. Kabyldin approved the Energy Policy of "KazTransOil" JSC. The Company developed the rules on energy planning, analysis and methodologies for determining energy efficiency indicators, baselines and areas of significant energy consumption. It is planned to certify the integrated management system, taking into account the energy management system this year.

The comparative analysis of various kinds of fuel and energy resources (FER) consumed by the Company shows that for 5 years the total FER consumption reduced by 64,798 tons of reference fuel, or 21% in relation to the volume of energy consumed by the Company in 2009.
