OREANDA-NEWS. On the Fifth day ( i.e. today,17th February, 2015) of National Tribal Festival “VANAJ”-2015 there will be screening of documentary Films titled “Pradhan: Sons of the soil” from 3 pm to 5.30 pm at Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) auditorium, Rajendra Prasad Road, New Delhi . Also there will be a seminar discussion from 3.30 p.m to 5.00 p.m in the IGNCA Auditorium where?in eminent panellists will deliberate on the topic ‘Traditional Tribal Food and crops’.

These are a part of the initiatives of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs which is organising the first National Tribal Festival – 2015 ‘VANAJ’ in New Delhi from 13th to 18th February, 2015. This festival titled as ‘VANAJ’ coincides with spring time tribal festivals of Phagu, Phagua and Phagun Parab, which celebrate tribal life. This gives an opportunity for the people of Delhi to appreciate the rich and diverse tribal culture. The festival show cases India’s unique Tribal culture, art, painting, music, dance, tribal medicine, tribal crops, tribal food, and a special attraction- tribal cuisine! The festival is being simultaneously held at three venues: (1) Central Park- Connaught Place, (2)Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts and (3)Baba Kharak Singh Marg, New Delhi.

Entries to all the venues are free. Visitors to the festival venues in Connaught Place Central Park and Baba Kharak Singh Marg are to park their vehicles at NDMC authorized parking slots only.
