OREANDA-NEWS. On January 29, CROC participated in the Kazan-based board session of the Tatarstan Ministry of Transport and Road Facilities and demonstrated the most advanced management automation solutions for road site design, construction, and operation.

CROC's booth featured an integrated solution based on Building Information Modeling technologies that comprise design and 3D visualization tools (holographic visualization system, movable 3D cube, etc.), a simulator of a construction machinery management system that allows for control over the quality and accuracy of continually moving site construction, as well as geodesic equipment (particularly a robotized tachometer), etc.

"Our solution covers the entire construction lifecycle: from pre-design preparation to the operation of completed sites, and allows for the management of all these processes in a unified information environment. A detailed 3D model is created and then imported into a 3D visualization module which allows for the thorough study and prompt adjustment of the designed object if necessary, and the demonstration of the design without creating a reduced size model. Afterwards, the 3D model is transmitted into the construction machinery management system, with prompt information being provided to the dispatch control center from a construction site. These data contribute to operational control and construction progress monitoring, thus ensuring a 1.5-2 times increase in construction performance," said Anna Zavtur, Large Account Director, CROC.

All object data accumulated since pre-design examination and obtained at the construction stage goes to the unified information environment segment that ensures information processing, storage, and use at the operation and reconstruction stages; while operational, strategic, and statistics reporting allows for timely maintenance and repairs in order to ensure object serviceability.

The solution was developed in line with government objectives adopted on March 13, 2014, by the Presidium of the Presidential Council for Economic Modernization and Innovative Development of Russia during a meeting devoted to the prospects of employing new approaches and technology in the construction industry. The first public demonstration took place at the State Council chaired by the President of the Russian Federation in October 2014.

"The Republic of Tatarstan intensively employs the latest technology in road site construction and is particularly ready to become a pilot region for testing various types of road covering in 2015. Through solutions presented at CROC's booth, the board members learnt about new road site design and construction management trends and, during what will be a challenging 2015, it will be necessary to consider all opportunities for the optimization and improvement of construction work performance. Certainly, we will adopt some of these solutions," said Artem Chukin, Deputy Minister of Transport and Road Facilities of the Republic of Tatarstan.

An extended board session of the Tatarstan Ministry of Transport and Road Facilities took place featuring Ildar Khalikov, Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, Roman Starovoyt, Head of the Federal Road Agency, and Lenar Safin, Minister of Transport and Road Facilities of the Republic of Tatarstan, with the 2014 performance and 2015 development objectives of the Tatarstan Transport Industry being discussed.
