OREANDA-NEWS. The first trucks with equipment for four horizontal heat recovery boilers have arrived at the construction site of Yakutskaya SDPP-2. Heat recovery steam generators (HRSG) with a thermal output of 42.4 Gcal/h each were built by Krasny Kotelshchik, a boiler-maker from Taganrog and a Power Machines company.

With specific climatic conditions in Yakutia, where air temperature drops to minus 64°С or lower in winter, equipment for Yakutskaya power plant under construction has to meet additional requirements. The heat recovery steam generators for Yakutskaya SDPP-2, for example, have high thermal shock resistance and low thermal inertia, enabling them to be quickly started.

It should be reminded that, as a result of rebidding, in Q1 2014, Power Machines OJSC won an open two-stage tender and was awarded a contract to supply four horizontal water HRSGs for Yakutskaya SDPP-2, being constructed in Yakutia. Pursuant to the contract, the power engineering company shall not only manufacture equipment but also provide delivery, installation supervision, staff training and testing services.

Yakutskaya SDPP-2 (stage 1) is one of the four projects of RusHydro's investment program, aimed at constructing new power facilities in the Far East and implemented jointly with RAO Energy System of East OJSC, following a presidential decree. Stage 1 of the new SDPP will have an electrical output of 193 MW and a thermal output of 469 Gcal/h (including hot water peaking boiler plant). The plant will replace the retired capacities of the existing Yakutskaya SDPP, provide power reserve and improve the security of supply to customers.
